A Word From ...
Addie Daabous, Executive Director
I believe it is a measure of our humility when we reach out to help those in need.
"You haven't lived a perfect day unless you have done something for someone that will never be able to repay you." ~ Albert Einstein
When Rob first approached me about creating an organization dedicated to enriching the lives of persons with an intellectual disability, I was not sure where to begin. What I did know was that I was offered a gift by God and, when I responded positively to Rob’s request, I enabled Rob’s conception of IDEAL-WAY.ca.
Persons with intellectual disability have a rightful place in our communities and they have the capability to emotionally touch others. If we let them, they can be our teachers and lead us to what matters most. IDEAL-WAY.ca believes persons with intellectual disability should be “part of the community”, and not just “in the community”.
I feel privileged to have the opportunity to be a part of IDEAL-WAY.ca where we will “build bridges that create a pathway to inclusion for persons with intellectual disability”.
Let's all be mindful that the wealth and fame which we accumulate in our brief life on earth amounts to nothing until we start giving back to society.
To get what we’ve never had we must do what we’ve never done.
I invite you to become a part of something special.
Joy and Peace,
Addie
